Post pandemia has affected us all. Most can use some recalibration. Relationships to alcohol, substances, tech, the world, and even ourselves may need an overhaul. Mental fitness is just as foundational as physical to our health and wellbeing.
Innovation and modernization are desperately needed in addiction healthcare. We have an obsolete system and treatment culture. There is a shocking lack of science and medicine for something called an epidemic. The statistics (or lack thereof) say it all, addiction treatment outcomes are out of line and subpar to anywhere else in healthcare. They don’t have to be.
The Flow Initiative was first created in 2010 to help provide more exit ramps off of the addiction superhighway. We developed an integrative framework of therapies, peer support, coaching, lifestyle and treatment navigation for people who wanted to change but couldn’t identify with the one-size-fits-all approach of the 12 Steps of AA or NA. There are multiple pathways, we can all coexist. We now know that more often than not the substances are secondary, a symptom of a deeper issue. The goal is to help identify and treat these issues. Live a life fulfilled and in flow with the world around us.
